It is with great pride and deep respect that I nominate Kaitlyn Machado, RDH, BS, MEd, FADHA for the Heart to Hands Award.

Kaitlyn represents the highest standards of our profession through her compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence in both patient care and professional growth.

A proud graduate of Bristol Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program, Kaitlyn continues to reflect the values of integrity, service, and lifelong learning that our college community stands for. From her time as a student to her professional career, Kaitlyn has consistently gone above and beyond expectations, always seeking to improve the lives of others through education, preventive care, and genuine empathy.

Kaitlyn’s approach to patient care is defined by compassion and excellence. She takes time to ensure every patient feels comfortable, respected, and informed. Her ability to educate patients about their oral health in a clear and reassuring way has built lasting relationships and trust. Colleagues and patients alike describe her as dependable, kind, and highly professional, someone who consistently raises the standard of care.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Kaitlyn demonstrates strong leadership and a true spirit of service. She remains actively involved in her community, volunteering at oral health awareness events and supporting underserved populations. Kaitlyn also continues to mentor Bristol Community College dental hygiene students, offering them guidance, encouragement, and the kind of real-world insight that only a dedicated professional can provide. Her generosity with her time and knowledge helps students develop confidence and pride in the profession.

Kaitlyn exemplifies what it means to be a dental hygienist who not only performs her duties exceptionally well but also inspires others to do the same. Her professionalism, empathy, and commitment to excellence reflect both her personal integrity and her dedication to the mission of dental hygiene to promote oral health as an essential part of overall wellness.

For these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly nominate Kaitlyn Machado, RDH, BS, MEd, FADHA for the Heart to Hands Award. She is an outstanding role model, a compassionate clinician, and a shining example of what it means to serve others with skill, humility, and heart.
